Islamic perspective on marriage
Hyder (Jan 23, 2009 )

I'm not married yet but I'mlooking for someone. I was born in India and I did my Masters here in the states. Upon reading these stories, I personally feel there was a big communication gap between the bride and the groom. Its not the country in which a person was born makes him good or bad, i think its a two way process. If you are not sure of what you are getting into, then certainly you will stumble. Not all guys from India are liars similarly not all girls born and brought up in the states are flirts. I think its important that people should talk(i mean not just look at one picture and few telephonic/chat conversations) have a face to face meeting(if possible). Set expectations, know what each one of you are expecting out of this relation and only then decide for yourself. If someone is forcing you to marry someone else, then its better to stay bachelor all life long rather than breaking apart few yrs down the raod and ruining each other's life. Communication is the key for happy marriages. Not the race, religion, country of birth!
