Last Friday marked the death of at least 15 and injury of over 30 innocent human lives
in Karachi, Pakistan while attending the congregational prayer at Haidary Mosque. We
at the Universal Muslim Association of America (UMAA) would like to extend our condolences
and prayers to the families of those who lost their life or were injured in
this heinous crime.
As members of the human race, we are outraged and condemn the ignorant and selfish
acts of the four suspected suicide bombers that committed this crime. As fellow
Muslims, we stand firm and consistent with the religion of Allah (SWT) against this
immoral behavior.
“And whosoever killeth a believer intentionally, his recompense shall be Hell, he
shall abide therein and God’s wrath shall be on him and His curse, and (there) is
prepared for him a great torment’” (6:93)
The Universal Muslim Association of America would like to make a plea with the government
of Pakistan, the United States Embassador to Pakistan, the United Nations, Amnesty
International, fellow Muslims and humanity at large to make every effort to stop the
pattern of killing and the loss of innocent life, such as the event in Karachi, Pakistan
last Friday.
